About me
My name is Cosmo Fudge. As a lifelong Alaskan, I have been bouncing back and forth between the wood shop and fishing boats since I was a kid. I reached a point in my mid-twenties when I was yearning for a little more consistency, and I knew I was going to have to give up one of those lifestyles. I fell in love with an amazing woman, adopted a dog, and said farewell to my life on the ocean. Although it is hard to replace the constant beauty that southeast Alaskan fisherman call “their office” every day, I am taking a crack at creating a similar beauty with my hands in my shop. The decision was easy, and I haven’t looked back since.
I am a specialty contractor that is licensed for rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and painting, which allows me to take on a variety of projects. In addition to being a specialty contractor, I am also an artist who has spent 5 years apprenticing under master luthier, Rob Goldberg, as well as much of my childhood learning how to carve from my father, Robert Fudge.
The experiences of carving and building handmade instruments led me to timber framing, another craft that honors traditional methods of working with hand tools and satisfies the soul on a daily basis.
